Shanth Guruji is the last surviving member of a lineage with a traditional Royal Physician heritage spanning approximately 700 years. He belongs to the Surēnavaru clan of the Kunchitiga community and is originally from Madhugiri, Tumakuru District, Karnataka.
His formal educational qualification is a Diploma in Electronics & Electrical. Along with his technical education, he has been involved in research, experimentation, innovation and independent work across several fields.
As part of his research activities, Shanth Guruji has conducted extensive experimentation in Micro Wind Mill technology, with a focus on developing indigenous technological solutions.
Through this research, he has worked towards developing Indian technology as an alternative to imported technologies, including Chinese technology, and has gained recognition for his efforts in this field.

In connection with allegations concerning corruption and assets involving former Karnataka Lokayukta Bhaskar Rao and his son Ashwin, Shanth Guruji states that he used his analytical and technical capabilities to help identify information relating to assets that had allegedly been concealed.
